Sea Life Hunstanton is a coastal aquarium and marine rescue center located in Norfolk, England, and part of the broader SEA LIFE conservation efforts, supporting seals across other locations in Scarborough and Blankenberge. It hosts the region’s only seal hospital open to the public, offering visitors a unique glimpse into the rehabilitation process of wild marine mammals.

The facility specializes in rescuing and rehabilitating grey and harbor seal pups, many of which are found abandoned, malnourished, or injured along the Norfolk coastline. Since opening, Sea Life Hunstanton has successfully rehabilitated and released over 750 seals back into the wild.

Rescued pups begin their recovery in the hospital’s indoor care units, receiving veterinary attention and round-the-clock support. Once strong enough, they transition to a pre-release outdoor pool, where they build strength and social skills alongside the center’s six resident seals. After release, some rehabilitated individuals have been tracked traveling remarkable distances, reaching as far as Germany and France.

In addition to its rescue work, Sea Life Hunstanton engages the public through educational exhibits and conservation messaging, helping raise awareness about the challenges facing marine wildlife in the North Sea and beyond.
