SR³ (SeaLife Response, Rehabilitation, and Research) was founded in 2017 by a team of veterinarians, scientists, and conservationists who recognized a critical gap in emergency response and medical care for marine wildlife in the Pacific Northwest. Their mission was to build a rapid-response network for stranded, sick, or injured marine animals, grounded in science and strengthened by community engagement.

SR³ operates the first mobile marine mammal veterinary unit in the Salish Sea region, enabling swift on-site intervention. For animals requiring extended rehabilitation, their facility offers state-of-the-art care tailored to complex medical needs. Notably, SR³ was among the first to successfully treat megaesophagus, usually a death sentence for harbor seal pups.

Beyond rescue and rehabilitation, SR³ conducts research into the broader threats facing ocean life, from pollution to climate change. They also collaborate with local communities to foster conservation awareness and inspire ocean stewardship through hands-on education and outreach.
