In the coastal town of Mablethorpe, Lincolnshire, the Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary and Wildlife Centre is a unique blend of rescue facility, wildlife hospital, and family-friendly attraction. Since its founding in 1974, the sanctuary has cared for hundreds of injured and orphaned grey and harbor seals, many of which are born at the nearby Donna Nook breeding colony.

While the sanctuary also cares for primates, reptiles, and birds, the wildlife rescue and hospital, including a seal hospital, has treated over 1,000 seals, along with countless seabirds and native wildlife. Their work includes the rescue and rehabilitation of seals and seabirds, public education through exhibits, nest-cams, and guides, and providing a sanctuary for animals too injured or tame to survive in the wild, including blind seals and amputee birds.

The charity is funded through donations and proceeds from the Seal Sanctuary Shop in Mablethorpe town centre. Their mission is to relieve suffering, promote conservation, and give every animal the best chance at life, whether in the wild or in safe captivity.
