The Sea World Foundation, based on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, is a non-profit organization dedicated to marine animal rescue, rehabilitation, research, and conservation. Attached to the Sea World aquarium and park, the Foundation is deeply rooted in scientific and environmental stewardship.
Its Sea World Rescue Team is on call 24/7, 365 days a year, responding to emergencies involving seals, dolphins, whales, turtles, seabirds, and even sharks. Injured animals are brought to Sea World’s veterinary facilities, where they receive expert care with the goal of returning them to the wild whenever possible. In cases where release isn’t viable, animals may become permanent residents in Sea World’s purpose-built habitats.
The Foundation also contributes to scientific knowledge through its Scientific Advisory Committee, composed of leading marine researchers and academics. Their work helps shape conservation strategies and ensures that rescue operations are grounded in the latest science.
